- (General Dispatch) – The state of California could spend about $28 million to assist President Joe Biden in his intention to bring immigrants from the Mexican border into the United States.
- During President Trump’s administration, the “Remain in Mexico” plan was applied, which forced immigrants to wait in Mexico for the status of their asylum application since when they entered the United States they were lost and did not attend court to make the corresponding processes.
- The state of California refused to cooperate with President Donald Trump and his anti-immigration policies, now it seems to be more in agreement and willing to work hand in hand with Biden.
- The Sacramento Bee reported, “The state funding comes after the Biden administration announced in February that it would begin allowing immigrants with credible asylum claims, who were previously waiting in Mexico under former President Donald Trump’s Migrant Protection Protocols program, to continue their immigration proceedings on U.S. territory,”
- “About $20 million of that funding will go toward the California Department of General Services to pay for hotel rooms in order to quarantine and isolate migrants for seven to ten days amid the COVID-19 crisis.”
- It is expected that the immigration flow will continue to increase in the coming days, so it is likely that the nation’s expenditures in this area will continue to increase progressively.
- Let’s remember that recently President Joe Biden offered to legalize all immigrants who do not enjoy this status, assuring that they deserve the same benefits as Americans.
- The Republican sector continues to show its concern for the policies implemented and even some Democratic sectors have shown their dissatisfaction with the current situation.
