Baltimore Education Quality Declines

  • By Wayne Rodrigo
  • (General Dispatch) – A recent investigation in Baltimore schools has found that a large number of students are not meeting educational standards, yet they are at a level that they should not be according to their GPA.
  • The Baltimore project investigated and reported on FOX news about the system in Baltimore schools.
  • It focused on the case of a 17-year-old student attending Augusta Fells Savage Visual Arts Institute in West Baltimore, son of Tiffany France.
  • Tiffany was shocked at the time her son was moved up to 9th grade, had most subjects failed and yet kept moving up each year. Violating the priority of each subject.
  • “I just assume that if you’re passing, that you have the right stuff to move up to the next grade and the right grades, you have the right credits,” France said.
  • France complained to the high school, assumes she should have been contacted to do something about it, and they shouldn’t have made decisions without first consulting her, such as moving her son up a year without meeting the goals.
  • A City Schools administrator, who preferred to remain anonymous, said it was a serious mistake by the institute not to apply the corresponding measures when a student is failing subjects or is absent from classes.
  • The executive director Dr. Sonja Santelises, sent the protocols that he performs at the time that the student is not complying, there is a system where you can see the grades and at the time of detecting any failure immediately contact the family.
  • Tiffany adopted to change her son’s high school, and asked the government to close this type of schools if they are not going to provide quality education.
