- (General Dispatch) – The Republican Party’s push for transgender children to participate on sports teams based on their sex, not their gender identity, has caused great controversy.
- “Tran’s kids are awesome, incredible, beautiful, and wonderful. Bigotry is not. Republicans need to stop obsessing over other people’s gender identity bc frankly it’s very weird and they’re doing a lot of harm to children who are just trying to be themselves,” said Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
- At the same time, in the Senate this issue continues to be debated without reaching a conclusion, the closest thing to reality is that the Equality Act presented by the Democrats continues to be the talk of the town.
- According to opinions gathered this week, 54% of U.S. citizens are opposed to transgender children belonging to different sports clubs than those that should be directed to them according to their sex.
- Currently, the Democrats have had to receive any number of insults from opponents, who say that a group of people cannot submit to a law the transformation of a body that at an early age must be mutilated.
- One of the aspects to consider in the approval of such a law is that a child is not in the psychological and emotional capacity to make such an important decision as to make changes in his or her body at a young age.
- However, there are those who consider that clubs should allow the entry of transgender children, because it would be raising the banner of discrimination and thus be violating constitutional rights.
- As a final instance, this is an issue that in the coming days will continue to be debated by the Senate, where it is expected that the best decisions will be made for the benefit of transgender children.
