- (General Dispatch) – The Chinese vaccine Coronavac developed by Biotech’s pharmaceutical company Sinovac is under investigation because after being applied to two patients, two days later they had side effects that led to their death, according to media reports.
- A 55-year-old woman was admitted to a medical center on March 5 and was diagnosed as having suffered an acute stroke, where she was treated and subsequently referred to Kwong Wah hospital where she developed cardiac complications.
- Health personnel attempted to resuscitate her, but the attempts were unsuccessful. Family members informed the Hong Kong Health Department of the woman’s activities prior to the stroke.
- According to the relatives’ account, “she had received the COVID-19 CoronaVac vaccine at the Community Vaccination Center at the Kwun Chung Sports Center in Jordan on March 2,” the office confirmed, adding that the deceased patient had a history of chronic illness.
- Hong Kong’s health department sent an expert group to investigate whether this death was due to the patient having been given a dose of CORONAVAC vaccine.
- Subsequently, a 71-year-old man received a dose of CORONOVAC on March 3 and was admitted to United Christian Hospital for respiratory failure, subsequently causing cardiac arrest on March 7.
- This vaccine was approved even though it did not reveal results in its final stage. The CCP authorized the immunization of the population in “emergency” cases, even though it should not be applied to people over 60 years of age.
- So far a large part of the Chinese population, according to a study, remains reluctant to voluntarily accept the CORONOVAC vaccine dose, the authorities have made efforts through advertising to increase the number of people immunized.
