- (General Dispatch) – DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas issued a statement even though the White House has limited him from expressing any information about the border situation.
- The DHS director admitted that every day the border landscape is more complex and worsening, he said “We are on track to encounter more individuals at the southwest border than in the last 20 years”.
- On the other hand, in the interview he referred to Title 42 as a measure that kept immigration in check in the former Trump administration, a law Biden intends to repeal.
- 60 Democratic members have called on Mayorkas to drop Title 42. “We write with deep concern about the continued Title 42 removals and deportations that have taken place in recent weeks, seemingly regardless of whether these migrants meet deportation priorities.”
- Mayorkas has been in a tough spot, as he has admitted that Donald Trump’s Title 42 policies kept the numbers of illegal entrants into the country at their lowest level for a decade.
- Even the Democrats’ statement to the secretary said, “In many cases, these deportees are families and children who likely do not pose a security threat. The Trump administration misused Title 42 to summarily remove hundreds of thousands of migrants while denying them due process and access to the asylum system in contravention of international legal obligations.”
- Perhaps Democrats are not assessing what Biden’s actions may do to the country, starting with letting immigrants who have tested positive for the covid 19 PCR test into the nation.
- The sheer number of unrepresented children who have lost their lives or have been sexually abused at the hands of the mafias that profit from human trafficking remains abysmal and incalculable to this day.
- If the Biden administration repeals Title 42, Mayorkas admitted that the situation will worsen even more, endangering the lives of immigrants and U.S. citizens themselves.
