Biden Administration Sued by Thirteen States Over Federal Impediment to Oil and Gas Leasing

  • By James Kravitz
  • (General Dispatch) – This Wednesday, an alliance of thirteen States filed a lawsuit against the White House administration for the decision that prohibits new oil and gas leases in the Federal territory.
  • The argument used by the alliance explains that the executive order imposed last January violates an established right.
  • U.S. citizens state that the costs have been managed at the whim of the Executive of the Nation, seriously affecting the economy.
  • It should be noted that the decision forces middle-class workers to abandon their jobs at a fatal moment when the pandemic crisis is hitting their pockets.
  • As a result, the energy security of the United States passes into the hands of foreigners, a much more costly alternative for the country.
  • Experts say the decision is in violation of the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act, as well as the Mineral Leasing Act, forcing the U.S. to rely on international energy sources.
  • In contrast, Landry stated, “For decades, Congress has embraced responsible development of our natural resources as a means to achieve energy independence, a matter of national security.”
  • Finally, this is yet another achievement of the new Biden administration that displaces entire communities from their jobs and brutally blows the nation’s economy by giving these revenues to foreign companies.
