Biden Requests Help for Border Crisis

  • By William Silgueiro
  • (General Dispatch) – President Biden has requested the help of bureaucrats in order to reduce the number of minors who are entering detention centers without their representatives.
  • The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has requested the help of other institutions to volunteer to address the serious health crisis that is occurring due to overcrowding.
  • Currently the detention centers have only one staff to care for more than 50 children, for this reason the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has volunteered to speed up medical care for the minors.
  • The department of health and human services said that they will pay the per diem, salary and so on for the EPA volunteers, the requirement of the COVID-19 virus test will not be necessary according to the mail they sent.
  • However, the Biden administration still maintains the request for those institutions that want to join to help in the immigration problem, volunteers who do not have knowledge will be trained to be transferred to San Antonio and San Diego.
  • The San Diego Convention Center is being used as one of the facilities to hold the large number of unrepresented minors detained by the Border Patrol.
  • Currently, Biden has promoted a program where teachers are teaching in-person classes to immigrant minors, a measure that has been criticized while educational institutions in the country maintain distance classes.
