- A third wave of infections due to covid-19 in its new variants has left students without access to the face-to-face classes they are used to.
- Toronto’s chief health officer called for severe restrictive measures in a statement to mitigate infections that are much more aggressive than in the past.
- Approximately 3000 infections per day are registered in the Canadian population, while the numbers in the intensive care area are really alarming.
- The decision was taken once the situation was evaluated, reaching the conclusion that the contact and closeness of the students represents a favorable scenario for contagion.
- Some neighboring cities made the decision to close their borders again as a security measure in the face of the unfortunate wave of contagions that the nation is once again facing.
- Although the distribution of vaccines against the coronavirus has reached a significant number of people in the population, it has not been enough.
