Covid-19 Appears Once Again in Southern China

  • By Jennifer Prill
  • (General Dispatch) – Local media announced a new coronavirus outbreak in the southern province of Yunnan, even though dictator Xi Jinping had declared the nation free of coronavirus in March 2020.
  • The Chinese government has been trying to let the international community know that it has total control over covid-19, something that has been a subject of debate, given a possible cover-up of data in the previous year.
  • The new outbreak is happening in a province of Myanmar, after a coup took place in February, different rebel groups rose up and have been in conflict with military groups.
  • The Global Times media reported that so far there are 76 cases of which 25 have been asymptomatic, the president has pointed out this unacceptable incident to the mismanagement of the Communist Party chief in Ruili, Gong Yunzun in Ruili who was removed from office.
  • Following this outbreak the Xi Jinping government applied strict measures, sent qualified health personnel to deal with the situation, and pointed out that this kind of negligence shames the country after having apparent success against the virus.
  • “Thousands of doctors have been called to join the anti-pandemic fight in Ruili, China, where a new cluster of COVID-19 cases has been reported recently,” state news agency Xinhua said.
  • On the other hand it was reported that Gong tried to make known to the president an alleged planning to stop the coronavirus weeks before, making border closures including the entire city, apart from other measures, still being insufficient to stop the spread of the virus.
