Chinese Health Workers Against Government’s Authoritarian Measures

  • By Wayne Rodrigo
  • (General Dispatch) –    The representative of the National Health Commission (NHC) has filed complaints after the national health authorities wanted to implement mandatory vaccination.
  • The Global Times media reported that the immunization campaign is being maintained despite some delays due to the reluctance of some of the population.
  • On the other hand, the officials of Wancheng municipality in Hainan province, in southern China, denied some news that said that the inhabitants could not use public transportation if they were not vaccinated.
  • However, the Chinese government has complained about the fierce foreign media campaign against the nation, causing residents to demonstrate violently.
  • The Global Times conducted different interviews, where citizens said they had not been vaccinated as the country had apparently eliminated the virus, and others feared for their age or future condition.
  • However, it has tried to dismiss other arguments, about the efficacy and safety rate of the vaccines, where other vaccines have been above the percentage of the vaccine produced by Sinovac Biotech.
  • The Chinese government is trying to increase the vaccination rate, since the population does not see the urgency to apply it voluntarily after the controversies generated by the Chinese pharmaceutical companies.
  • The Chilean government has immunized a large part of the population with Chinese vaccines, yet the infection rate remains high, exposing negative results despite the Global Times’ attempts to divert the information.
