- (General Dispatch) – The number of migrants attempting to reach British soil continues to rise, with the number of landings reported to have tripled this year.
- 42 migrants were detained and taken to the port of Dover, and it is assumed that more than 1,400 people have attempted to cross the English Channel, with the majority coming from France.
- The Daily Mail reported that last year the numbers were 466 migrants, and have been rising dramatically, with 25,000 migrants expected to try to enter by the end of the year.
- One of the problems that the United Kingdom currently has is the late process at the time of deportation, apart from the large number of asylum applications, most of which are denied.
- According to economic studies they said that keeping the migrants is costing money to the contribution of the British community, since the state provides free accommodation, medical care and education to migrants.
- Home Secretary Priti Patel, who has not implemented any short-term measures to deal with the situation, apart from a message last month to house 8700 migrants in 90 hotels, has been criticized by various officials.
- Even the accommodation has cost the country £258 million, Brexit leader Nigel Farage warned that Minister Patel must implement immigration measures that allow for immediate deportation, and not allow migrants to land on British soil.
- The minister has asked the government for £1.3 billion to implement a new asylum system, in addition to the funding given to France to increase border security.
