- A terrorist involved in the 2016 San Bernardino shooting was technically protected by the Apple Company in its attempt to not reveal the contents of the mobile device.
- Initially the Australian company Azimuth Security dedicated to providing cyber services managed to decrypt the access key that allowed the FBI to locate the findings.
- The purpose of the facts lies in the fact that Apple’s security system is not sufficiently secure as guaranteed by its predecessors.
- The FBI made a series of recommendations for Apple to study in depth the state-of-the-art security systems they claim.
- Apple has even had the support of other technology companies to strengthen the strategic lines of security, but the company is not very receptive.
- According to Strafach, unlocking the Azimuth iPhone helped Apple avoid “a very bad precedent where everyone’s phone would have weakened security.”
- In conclusion, Apple communicated through its chief spokesman Todd Wilder, that it appreciates the intention of Azimuth Security Corporation, and that they will work together to achieve a more comprehensive security system.
