- (General Dispatch) – Patrisse Cullors, co-founder of Black Lives Matter, is under investigation about her radical left-wing position, after the activist acquired several properties and confirmed it through an interview.
- Marc Lamont Hill an interviewer for Black News Tonight asked Patrisse several questions, after receiving constant criticism from the BLM group, apart from some reports that revealed the properties she acquired.
- The reports said that the activist had acquired a $1.4 million compound in the Topanga Canyon neighborhood of Los Angeles, along with other luxurious properties.
- The main question being asked by critics is how Patrisse is obtaining funds to live a life of luxury; however in defense she said she has other sources of income.
- Patrisse said that she is a university professor, apart from television activities and in her free time she generates content through the social network Youtube.
- However she said she received 120000 dollars in 2013 but that was money earmarked for different activities, and was not for personal use apparently.
- “Organizers should get paid for the work they do. They should be paid a living wage. And the fact that the right-wing media is trying to generate hysteria around my expenses is, frankly, racist and sexist” said Patrisse.
- Such activities of the co-founder have generated controversy, as she asks for donations to help the black community, and it is not known if this fund is actually intended for that purpose.
