- (General Dispatch) – A group of NHS healthcare staff have pleaded guilty to inadequate care of baby Harry, who failed to live for days after birth.
- The mother Sarah Richford had reported the incident, but it was only now that the trial was held, the workers of the East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust hospital admitted malpractice.
- The trial took place this week at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court, which issued a report saying that baby Harry’s death could have been prevented with proper care in 2017.
- The baby died 7 days after his mother went into labor, according to Sarah Richford said that the doctor already knew it was a high risk pregnancy, however, the delivery was scheduled for 2:00am and was performed at 3:30am.
- The investigation revealed that the baby presented respiratory complications and at the time he was attended, the doctors were unable to apply the necessary process, causing brain damage.
- The parents of the baby after his death were in constant struggle for the Ministry of Justice to act, and after three years the representatives of the hospital pleaded guilty to the fact.
- However, although Sarah had succeeded in the lawsuit, it was discovered through a report submitted by Royal College that year earlier, similar cases had been filed about maternity services.
- Apparently in the hospital center from 2014 to 2018 there have been 143 deaths of babies being most of them due to respiratory problems causing brain damage for such reason since 2015 the courts began to apply strict fines to the hospital center.
