NFL Speaks Out After Derek Chauvin Ruling

  • By Joergen Haisem
  • (General Dispatch) – The NFL claims that the verdict that found former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin guilty does not “reverse the loss of life”, and that the now deceased George Floyd should still be “here with us today”.
  • Minutes after the verdict was announced, through a statement published on the social network twitter the league celebrated the act of justice.
  • It should be noted that the judges in Minneapolis found Derek Chauvin guilty of the three charges against him, for second and third degree murder.
  • At the same time, the league emphasized that the late George Floyd should be with the league at this time and not have had the terrible outcome that he did.
  • Likewise, the league acknowledged that it faithfully supports the social justice movement, after Colin Kaepernick began his protests in 2016.
  • In that sense, the league has incorporated social justice as part of its organizational structure to defend human rights.
  • While the ruling may have included the justice that much of the U.S. population had hoped for, it does not bring George and the other fallen back to life, the league said.
  • Finally, the Court of Justice issued a sentence condemning the violence that occurred months ago, opening a new chapter in the fairness of the American people.
