Jim Inhofe Proposes new Environmental Legislation for the United States

  • By Steph. G. Halston
  • (General Dispatch) – U.S. politician Jim Inhofe of the Republican Party has introduced a new bill to require the current Biden administration to enforce environmental standards as long as other countries enforce them.
  • China, India, and Russia are among the world’s top polluters, but if they want to demand that the U.S. enforce environmental solutions, they should do the same.
  • Inhofe said the bill will be called the “National Manufacturing Protection Act” and will prevent any action Biden wants to take in order to hurt jobs or businesses over the coronavirus issue and involve the country in the climate agreement again.
  • “The 2015 Paris Climate Agreement allowed the world’s biggest polluters a free pass while sacrificing American manufacturing jobs. That’s why I urged President Trump to pull out of the bad deal,” said inhofe.
  • China and Russia are a threat to the country’s security, which is why Inhofe said the U.S. could not be allowed to fall behind, and if Biden approves measures and other countries do not, it will severely affect the economy.
  • Currently, several Republican members have shown their concern, since one of Biden’s main projects is focusing on climate change, regardless of how it may affect their own population.
  • Nevertheless, Inhofe said, “We will not leave those Americans behind. We will provide our fellow citizens with pathways to new, sustainable livelihoods and support as they navigate this transition.”
  • President Biden aims to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 50%, but to achieve this, Heritage Foundation studies estimated that it would cost about 400,000 jobs annually.
