- (General Dispatch) – Black Lives Matter UK spokesman Malcolm Baker said that the Minneapolis Police Department “would not have survived” if the verdict had been contrary to the one announced by the judge.
- After the ruling against Chauvin was announced Wednesday afternoon, the UK movement expressed its opinion, announcing that if the decision had not been this one, the nation would have had a summer of black rebellion.
- It should be noted that although race relations between the U.S. and the U.K. are totally different, BLM UK assures that its activists are there to defend their rights.
- Britain has for decades faced acts of violence by white supremacists, who have degraded the black ethnic race to the point of death.
- Nevertheless, the Black Lives Matter movement is prosecuting all acts of racial discrimination until they are replaced by tolerance and an equitable security system.
- In this sense, providing security in the most vulnerable communities where people of African descent live is the main objective for the movement, because they have been unprotected for years.
- Abuse by police officers against black people must continue to be criminalized until there is a balance of equality, Baker said.
- Finally, it is clear that the Minneapolis jury’s decision was the right one to mitigate a little the acts of systemic racism operating in the United States.
