Apple Set to Invest $1 Billion to Build North Carolina Campus

  • (General Dispatch) – Technology giant Apple announced Monday that it will invest more than $1 billion to build its first campus in North Carolina, and expects it to create at least 3,000 new jobs. 
  • As the U.S. begins to rise from the economic recession caused by the pandemic, Apple plans to increase its investment.
  • In addition to growing economically, company executives say they will allocate 20,000 entirely new jobs over the next five years by expanding teams to New York, Texas, and Colorado among other cities.
  • In the first instance, the campus and engineering center will be located in the Research Triangle Park in the Raleigh-Durham area, which will also include additional jobs such as software engineering and artificial intelligence.
  • Government officials expressed their delight at the arrival of the technology giant in the city, as it will strengthen the county’s economy.
  • However, Apple will also allocate US$100 million to support school and community initiatives to strengthen the city’s civil works.
  • In addition, residents of the city expressed their satisfaction that Apple is willing to finance several of the projects and generate secure jobs for many in an attempt to overcome the pandemic.
