- (General Dispatch) – David Fowler, the medical examiner who determined that former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was not responsible for the death of George Floyd, is being investigated by state officials.
- Notably, Fowler classified Chauvin’s death as “undetermined” leaving aside the wrongful death that in the public eye was evident.
- Fowler held that Floyd had a sudden cardiac arrhythmia due to atherosclerotic and hypertensive heart disease.
- In the first instance, the findings of the medical examiner were inadmissible in light of the delicate situation facing Chauvin.
- For this reason, the competent authorities are pointing fingers at the medical examiner, after the jury found Chauvin guilty.
- In this sense, an investigation team parallel to the one that originally sustained the previous version performs a verification of the facts in order to make an objective determination.
- Although Chauvin’s attorney told the court that Floyd’s health was impaired, drug use also contributed to the terrible consequences.
- It is expected that soon the investigations that revolve around the medical examiner David Fowler will be able to clarify the facts surrounding Floyd’s death.
