Idaho Senators Pass Bill Banning Racial Theory Bill

  • By Steph. G. Halston
  • (General Dispatch) –  The House jointly with the Senate in Idaho pass legislation prohibiting schools from forcing K-12 and college-educated students to adopt Critical Race Theory principles.
  • The House passed the legislation with 52 affirmative votes, opposing only 12, while the Senate garnered 27 yes votes and 8 no votes.
  • The legislation arises as a measure to encourage that the notable racial distinctions can be mitigated, avoiding the learning of theories that contribute to the construction of discriminatory thought structures.
  • The context of the regulation contains principles of critical race theory that exalt divisions based on sex, religion, color, race and even nationality, among other aspects.
  • Therefore, the theory is undermined in order to design a much more inclusive education, where aspects such as those described above are not part of the human relations of the new generation of students and future professionals.
  • For this reason, educational institutions, although they should talk about critical race theory, should not make a special emphasis on students, nor induce them to adopt a philosophy of life of this nature.
  • Consequently, the decision will be in the hands of each student and teacher at the moment of going through these theoretical arguments that are not outside the curricular design, but outside the racist promotion.
  • Freedom of thought is not restricted in this legislation; it simply seeks to leave aside unconventional theories that in current times do not apply to the construction of a solid education.
