Turkey Encourages Tourism for Foreigners But Limits Nation with Rigid Covid-19 Restrictions

  • By Ely Márquez
  • (General Dispatch) –   Next month will be pleasant for foreign visitors entering Turkey for tourism, while the government imposes severe restrictions because of covid-19 on members of their nation.
  • According to information provided by Turkey’s minister, foreign tourists will be able to visit archeological museums and other tourist sites with only their passport.
  • Meanwhile, the President of the nation Recep Tayyip Erdogan ordered a strict control for Turkish citizens, due to the increase of cases of coronavirus infection.
  • It should be noted that the measures are very severe, including curfews at night, and for this reason the disparity in governmental arguments cannot be explained.
  • The restrictions have reached the point that citizens cannot go out to the street to buy the food products necessary for their survival, but on the other hand, foreigners will enjoy privileges.
  • This is already an executive order issued by the presidency to which citizens must also continue to submit during the next few days, until the contagion curve drops.
  • Consequently, the government of Turkey maintains that the economic reactivation of the nation is required in order to avoid further strengthening the economic recession, and therefore will allow tourists to move freely throughout the country.
  • However, tourists intending to enter the country must be duly vaccinated or otherwise undergo PCR tests to ensure that they are in optimal health and do not represent a risk to Turkey.
