- (General Dispatch) – Detained Muslim terrorist Ibrahim Anderson pleaded guilty to sharing information for the purpose of carrying out terrorist acts in connection with the Islamic State.
- The 44-year-old Ibrahim made a video statement through Wandsworth Prison to the Old Bailey in London, giving details of crimes committed in the previous year.
- Ibrahim was charged with four counts of maintaining certain links with the Islamic State, and ten counts of publishing and inciting terrorist acts, as well as evading information when requested by authorities.
- The BBC media outlet said Ibrahim had created a fake Facebook account, where he posted two videos showing content of violent crimes of the Islamic State, apart from sending another 8 through the telegram application.
- However the lawyer Patrick Harte, defender of the terrorist Ibrahim, said that his client shares information and was not aware of the consequences that could generate such content, apart from involving the authorities.
- So far the court has not issued a sentence, and keeps the defendant deprived of his liberty until a conclusion is reached in the case; another hearing is expected to be held at the end of April.
- On the other hand the media reported that in 2016 the arrest of Anderson and Shah Jahan Khan of 63 years both Muslims for similar offenses they committed in 2014 of having tried to distribute propaganda in order to get people to join the Islamic state was made.
- Eilish O’Gara counter-terrorism researcher at the think tank said “Institutional failure to remove dangerous TACT [terrorist] offenders from the general population has resulted in the emergence of hierarchical gangs in many of our prison estate teams.” such an announcement was made after institutions allowed Muslim detainees to profess Islam to other offenders in prison.
