- (General Dispatch) – This Thursday, legislator Lindsey Graham, defended the obstructionism that his Democratic allies have labeled as “racist”, pointing out that the left used such tool when they were in the minority.
- The Republican expressed that current President Joe Biden has used derogatory comments to refer to them as Jim Crow for supporting Georgia’s electoral reform.
- In this sense, Graham indicated that such comments will not intimidate them from joining Biden’s agenda, assuring that he will support the Democrats in the police reform.
- Likewise, he affirmed that: playing the race card of his Democratic colleagues will not work, because there is nothing racist about maintaining obstructionism.
- Graham also called hypocritical the fact that when they were in the minority they held the filibuster for a long period of time, but now it is a racist tool.
- It should be noted that this parliamentary technique seeks to delay the legislative process so that a law does not pass, and currently the Biden agenda requires the opposite.
- In the meantime, several senators maintain rhetoric around the approval process of a set of Biden bills that continue to be on hold.
- The controversy of systemic racism is being used to suit partisan interests, while outside of Congress it is an unfortunate reality for American citizens.
