Chinese Workers Do Not Trust Their Country’s Vaccines

  • By Steph. G. Halston
  • (General Dispatch) – After surveying workers in Zhejiang province who refuse to be candidates for the Covid vaccine, there are a small percentage of people who are willing to receive the injection once it is available to all people.
  • The Zhejiang Center for Disease Prevention and Control surveyed 756 health care workers where only 42% would benefit from immunization, although only 28% said they would agree only when it is already on the market for everyone.
  • The research showed that people are not willing to be vaccinated because of the possible side effects it may generate, and they ask the government to educate people about its efficacy and safety.
  • Shanghai bordering Zhejiang conducted a general survey of 1.8 million people where only half were willing to receive the vaccine, entering into controversy with the study conducted by the world forum which yielded different results.
  • “Vaccination intention is highest in China, where 80 percent of respondents strongly or somewhat agreed with the statement ‘if a vaccine for COVID-19 were available, I would get it,'” the World Economic Forum reportedly said.
  • Chinese health officials recognize that public confidence is low, so they are demanding full transparency to avoid indecision and to release the full clinical trial post-launch.
  • Chinese pharmaceutical companies have had several scandals due to manufacturing ineffective vaccines or distributing expired doses, about 70 people have been arrested for selling fake coronavirus vaccines as a national offensive.
  • It should be noted that the Chinese vaccine is one of the least effective on the market, so the doubt is supported by scientific data and the lack of transparency of the companies that are manufacturing the vaccines.
