- (General Dispatch) – In an interview with the executive director of Sinovac Biotech, he stated that the percentage of efficacy of the CoronaVac vaccine increases after receiving the second dose (80-90 percent).
- The Chinese vaccine CoronaVac has been subjected to different studies, one of the most relevant was the one carried out by the Butantan Institute in health centers in Brazil, which resulted in a 50.38% efficacy rate.
- This type of research was carried out until the end of January, as Brazil had witnessed a resurgence of the virus with a new strain. The executive director of Sinovac, Yin Weidong said that the percentage of efficacy increased in February but did not give any research basis to affirm it.
- The CCP has launched a campaign through banners and Chinese media to reassure its citizens to voluntarily take the first dose of the CoronaVac vaccine.
- CoronaVac has faced major complications, not only has the population been reluctant to take the vaccine voluntarily, but some people have experienced serious side effects that have led to their death.
- According to the head of Sinovac, Yin said that the effectiveness rate is 90 percent two months after the first injection, but the amount of antibodies decreases over time, and another dose of CoronaVac will be required.
