- (General Dispatch) – A conservative party has made harsh criticisms against Secretary Priti Patel saying that the measures that have been adopted at the border have been deficient.
- Currently the UK legislative system is going through several reforms, but the deportation process has been a time-consuming issue, and the country is going through a surge of immigrants.
- Sir Edward Leigh MP stated that the increase of immigrants is due to the null measures that are imposed, if foreign people arrive on British soil they know that the deportation process is in disuse.
- They are asking Minister Boris Johnson not to think about applying more sanctions; the Conservatives have called for the measure used by former Prime Minister Tony Abbott of “Operation Sovereign Borders.”
- Abbott’s measure is to seek to protect immigrants from risking their lives, and to decrease the levels of intakes that the Australian country was witnessing, the rule has achieved its objectives by being a strict rule.
- All those migrants who are apprehended by Australian authorities on their vessels will not be allowed to disembark and the boats will be turned back and trials will be applied to them on the high seas.
- Edward praised Abbott’s move “He made sure that because all arrivals were placed in a safe place and left there until their claim was processed and they were either deported or allowed to stay, now there are no unsafe arrivals to Australia; no deaths at sea; no criminal gangs, the policy works.”
- Priti Patel did not give high hopes for the implementation of this measure, as she argued that it will be discussed and perhaps implemented in the long term, for now the secretary hopes that the British Government can create a similar project but with its own conditions.
