- (General Dispatch) – Nigel Farage accuses the British government of patronizing China by allowing them to buy schools in the nation, giving preference to business and leaving aside the consequences it may have for the country’s security.
- The limited attention to this sector allowed companies linked to Chinese communism to acquire schools, Farage referred to such actions as “neo-colonialist” where the CCP hopes to expand and implement its ideology in pursuit of world domination.
- In a television program Farage said that all this is only focused on business and money, giving as an example the expansion that Huawei has had, at the same time the people involved are from the 2014 advisory council.
- Farage referred that the former Prime Minister David Cameron, seeks to raise £ 700 million with a project called UK-China fund that was founded by Lord Petter Gummer which seeks to build ports, roads and railroad lines further strengthening ties with China.
- Apart from Cameron there is another former Prime Minister Tony Blair. According to a 2015 investigation it is concluded that he had dealings with senior Chinese communist party officials and state corporations in the Xinjiang region, even receiving funding in activities he carried out in the Asian country.
- The politician Farage admitted that 17 schools have been acquired by Chinese means. He then gave a message to former ministers who lent themselves to negotiations with China claiming “If you sell your soul for money to a regime that does not respect human rights, democracy, freedom of speech, I think you deserve what you get”.
- Roger Sinnett, the headmaster of one of the schools disagreed with Farage’s words, saying that there are few schools in the country that will work together with the Chinese, combining British and Asian education in order to help the British become great professionals.
- It has been concluded that the Chinese media have tried to silence information or facts relevant to other nations. It therefore calls into question its true intentions in engaging with the UK in this way.
