Health Workers in Beijing don’t Trust Chinese Vaccine

  • By Ely Marquez
  • (General Dispatch) – According to a research team led by Kong Qingfu, leader of the Chinese CDC program reported that the higher the education level of health personnel, the more they refuse to be immunized with the Chinese vaccine.
  • About 74% of health care workers refuse to voluntarily receive the Chinese vaccine. In a survey of 3100 health care workers, they said the data obtained will have to be re-evaluated as many preferred not to participate in the survey.
  • Kong insists that healthcare workers should be the first to be vaccinated as they are the people who are most exposed and can be infected with the virus the fastest.
  • The groups of researchers are still wondering why workers have taken this stance on vaccinations; one of the conclusions is that workers are totally confident of the anti-covid measures in Beijing.
  • China’s huge capital Beijing has had one of the strongest anti-covid controls, especially in Hebei, where there was a spike and they blocked 1.7 million of its residents to prevent the new strain from spreading to the other districts.
  • “The Daxing district in southern Beijing has been isolated from the rest of the country after six infections were found there. The total number of cases in Beijing is 15“ Bloomberg News reported at the time.
  • The Chinese government is hoping to strengthen health care workers, get them immunized with the vaccine to exponentially reduce covid cases, and contribute to the welfare of the population.
