- (General Dispatch) – British politician Tony Blair blames Britain for leaving the EU and contributing to the problem they are experiencing over the production of vaccines, delaying the injection to millions of Europeans by more than two months.
- The UK made a good strategy just when it became independent, managing to negotiate contracts with pharmaceutical companies months beforehand for the purchase of vaccines, unlike the EU, which was making plans to take over the contracts on behalf of the bloc.
- AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals had previously made contracts with Britain, being able to supply large quantities to the UK, but has had several difficulties in production and has not been able to meet the large demand from Europe which has caused inconvenience.
- According to Our World in Data it was reported that in Great Britain 36 people have been immunized for every 100 receiving the first injection of the vaccine as opposed to the EU, where only 10 out of every 100 immunizations have been achieved.
- Blair acknowledged the great work of Great Britain through an Austrian media Profil “Great Britain did an excellent job in this case. First of all, a small vaccination task force was tasked with procuring the vaccines. Then we were able to start vaccinating quickly and widely thanks to the centrally controlled NHS public health service.”
- The EU has been affected from the moment Britain decided to withdraw, it has lost strength and now it is being evidenced by the bad decisions it is taking, after Commission President Ursula Von Der Leyen approved Italy’s blocking of 250 doses of vaccine from AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals.
- Blair referred to Minister Boris that if the “Vaccine passport” is applied, everyone should agree to implement it, the health certificate.
