France Conducts Naval Exercises with Israel, Greece and Cyprus

  • (General Dispatch) – The Mediterranean Sea is being a zone of conflict, France together with Israel, Greece and Cyprus are joining forces to conduct naval exercises to show strength to Turkey.
  • The naval exercise called “Dina Double” was led by Israel which included France. According to AP news media it was “anti-submarine procedures, search and rescue scenarios, and a scenario simulating a battle between ships.”
  •  Rear Admiral Eyal Harel, Israel’s chief of naval operations, told the media it was a large-scale exercise implementing practices involving a real war scenario.
  • “These practices included implementing capabilities in underwater warfare, search and rescue, convoy escort and surface combat,” Rear Admiral Eyal Harel said.
  • The Rear Admiral said that this type of exercises are of vital importance and even more so if they are carried out with allied countries in order to be synchronized in the future in the event of any event that may occur in the Mediterranean Sea.
  • On the other hand, cooperation is being carried out to build 1,900 kilometers underwater gas pipeline and a 2,000 megawatts underwater electric cable, the defense ministers agreed to meet to agree on other national security projects.
  • “Israel is working especially to build up its naval forces to defend its strategic natural gas industry from the threat of the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah” breitbart news said.
  • Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has cooperated with Hamas, an Islamist militant group, and allowed them to set up bases in Turkey. Western countries along with Israel see this Islamist group as a terrorist threat to the region.
