United Kingdom Begins to Emerge From Confinement

  • By Anton Grillo
  • (General Dispatch) – The media London AP reported that the Minister Boris Johnson has fulfilled his promise to relax the restrictions that had been imposed against the coronavirus.
  • As of this week, the inhabitants of Great Britain will be able to carry out outdoor activities, including meetings with family and friends, on the other hand, the weather may be a factor that may be favorable at this time of the year.
  • Previously, Minister Boris Johnson had imposed a strict blockade where citizens could not move out of their homes for several months, but thanks to the immunization campaign everything has been gradually changing.
  • This has been a positive change for locals after being under the imposition of the “coronavirus law” in March last year which allowed police officers the authority to arrest people who were suspected of COVID 19.
  • However, a large number of premises are still closed, such as restaurants, cinemas, theaters, bars, among others. The British government announced that although these measures are being adopted, they are subject to change if there is a possible spike in cases of COVID 19.
  • Last year the mortality rate was 126,000 deaths due to the virus, but at the beginning of the year 2021 the vaccination campaign has been a success despite complications with the European Commission.
  • Currently, the British Ministry of Health announced that there have only been more than 3,000 cases of new infections, a very low figure, which has been seen as favorable for the British community.
  • On the other hand, the British government expects to be able to solve the supply of vaccines for the month of April, since India and Europe warned of possible blockades to exports in order to distribute the vaccine to their citizens.
