Germany Requires a Quiet Easter to Mitigate Covid-19 Contagions

  • In view of the constant wave of contagions that the nation has had to face in recent days, registering 24,300 new cases and a total of 201 deaths, the population is alerted to prevent the spread of the disease.
  • Through a video Melker indicated that “There has to be a peaceful Easter festival, I urgently ask you to refrain from all non-urgent travel and that we all constantly follow the rules”.

  • He also assured that next Tuesday at least 35,000 doctors and health personnel will receive immunization against the coronavirus, as a safety measure to continue attending to the emergency.
  • Apparently, in this second quarter of the year, Germany will receive the vaccines from Astrazeneca, in order to distribute them to the population most vulnerable to contagion.
  • Notably, the restrictive measures will be applied during this Easter week, as a small number of activities will be allowed during specific hours of the day. Most of the commercial sector will be closed.
  • In summary, Germany will experience a second Easter full of restrictions until the coronavirus is eradicated, and also as a measure to support the health area, which is exhausted after a year of uninterrupted work.
