- (General Dispatch) – The chairman of the New York Assembly Judiciary Committee, Chuck Lavine said that new allegations about Andrew Cuomo are being investigated for wanting to prioritize evidence over his family members.
- The governor of New York has been accused of having falsified along with his employees the deaths by COVID 19 in nursing homes; on the other hand he has received accusations from his female employees for sexual harassment.
- However, the Governor requested that the first incoming tests be applied to his family and closest friends, the Washington Post said the test results were obtained at a state laboratory.
- Cuomo said it was a matter of time before he contracted the virus, as he was a public official, as he was constantly exposed to people even though he complied with biosecurity measures.
- Cuomo’s representative, Richard Azzopardi, said, “We must avoid disingenuous efforts to rewrite the past. In the early days of this pandemic, when there was a big emphasis on contact tracing, we absolutely went above and beyond for people to test.”
- Azzopardi said that this indictment really doesn’t matter at all and stated that it is better to focus on the current situation for which the governor is charged in order to reach a peaceful resolution.
- Attorney General Letitia James, a friend of Cuomo’s, said that this type of preference should be investigated by a commission in order to clarify the accusations against the governor.
