- (General Dispatch) – President Trump refused to meet with his former U.N. ambassador after she summoned him to Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, according to a report.
- The former president’s rebuff is not surprising since Haley was one of his staunchest critics in the Republican Party.
- “I don’t think he’s going to be in the picture. I don’t think he can. He’s fallen so far,” she said. “We need to acknowledge he let us down. He went down a path he shouldn’t have, and we shouldn’t have followed him.” said Haley in a politico magazine article
- In this same article she revealed that his political relevance was over and that the Republican Party should move forward.
- After Haley’s remarks, she tried to recant by claiming that the “liberal media” was trying to divide the Republican Party.
- “The media playbook starts with the demand that everyone pick sides about Donald Trump—either love or hate everything about him,” Haley wrote.
- The former ambassador has not yet announced whether she will compete to be the Republican candidate for the next elections, however, she seems to be far behind in the party’s preferences in which Donald Trump seems to remain the chosen one.
- No further details have been given as to what the meeting was intended to address or a specific reason, the only certainty is that the former president does not appear to have any interest in ironing out any differences with Haley at this time.
