- (General Dispatch) – Congressional Democrats are crafting a federal stimulus bill that will benefit people who lost their jobs after the devastating covid-19 pandemic.
- The purpose of the legislation is to provide $50 billion in grants to nonprofit organizations to support workers affected by the coronavirus.
- In this vein, the bill, which was reintroduced this week, contributes at least $3 million in grants to each nonprofit organization.
- Thus, the contribution would support the creation of new jobs, cover existing jobs and ensure that expenses are covered.
- Prospectively, other Democratic senators have joined in supporting the bill, in order to encourage citizens to find a new opportunity in the job market.
- Consequently, the approval of this bill could generate a great deal of debate in the Senate, since non-profit organizations have received income from the PPP.
- The legislation contemplates in a special way, a quick way for unemployed people to find a job immediately.
- Although this funding does not fully offset losses, it will provide a valuable contribution to the nation’s economy.
