- (General Dispatch) – The President of the United States, Joe Biden, celebrated Thursday the launching of his bill to legalize the stay of foreign immigrants in the country.
- The bill aims to legalize between 11 to 22 million immigrants residing in the country illegally, and has been introduced by Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) and Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-CA).
- The project proposes to legalize the stay of foreigners and make them U.S. citizens so that they can opt for jobs with all the corresponding salary conditions.
- Biden referred to the immigration policies put forward by Trump, saying: “only exacerbated the already broken immigration system”
- “This is an important first step in pursuing immigration policies that unite families, grow and enhance our economy, and safeguard our security,” Biden Said.
- The president argued that immigration was “an irrefutable source of our strength” and would continue fighting for more amnesty for illegal immigrants.
- The Republican Party has asserted that these policies do nothing but harm Americans, who according to official figures are said to have more than 10 million unemployed.
- The bill has been introduced, but it is not yet known if it has the support of the majority of the Senate. But as a first step, Biden is fulfilling one of his campaign promises with which he tried to capture the Latino vote, improvement in immigration policies.
