Americans Should Continue Wearing Masks After Covid-19

  • By Ely Márquez
  • (General Dispatch) – According to a survey conducted the previous week in the United States, people should continue to wear their protective masks in public places, even if they have already been vaccinated.
  • Despite significant advances in the distribution of the vaccine in the population, and progress in people’s daily activities, the masks will continue to be part of the citizens.
  • Interestingly, the survey showed that 81% of the population supported the use of face masks to avoid contagion. Only 7% of the people surveyed intend to dispense with its use.
  • Citizens’ expectations are that after six months the pandemic will have disappeared and they will be able to return to normality without any type of restrictions.
  • According to the data revealed, the vast majority of those surveyed wish to return in the near future to public meetings in front of a large number of people; others stated that they are already doing so.
  • The closest thing to reality is that people are anxiously awaiting the publication of the guide containing the post-vaccination conditions issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which will surely guide citizens to perform certain actions.
  • For the time being, the use of face masks is maintained in the population, both for people already vaccinated and for those who are waiting for their distribution, as well as social distancing and crowds of people.
  • As a final instance, the care and prevention against covid-19 remains in the hands of citizens, who must continue to wait for the outcome of the pandemic.
