Denmark Suspends AstraZeneca Covid-19 Vaccine Distribution

  • By James Kravitz
  • (General Dispatch) – Denmark is temporarily halting distribution of the AstraZeneca vaccine after reports surfaced that the vaccine had caused blood clots in some people.
  • However, the country’s health authorities have not confirmed that the formation of blood clots in people was caused by the vaccine.
  • Some health specialists have commented that countries such as Great Britain have received the vaccine with no reports of such events.
  • The nation’s health authorities were alerted immediately upon learning of the events, so their decision “was based on a precautionary principle”, alleged health officials.
  • Based on the above, some physicians have argued that the health problems are present in people’s bodies, and are not due to the application of a vaccine.
  • In this perspective, a large number of elderly people are part of the population receiving the vaccine, many of them already affected by the damage caused to their health system, prone to contract other complications.
  • Following the announcements made by Denmark regarding the AstraZeneca vaccine, Norway also suspended the administration of the vaccine.
  • Although the facts have not been clarified, the countries seem not to take the risk, and to stop its administration, while studies are being carried out to determine whether the vaccine causes such an effect.
