Jen Psaki Blames Trump Administration For Country’s Current Immigration Crisis

  • By Jennifer Prill
  • (General Dispatch) – White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki blamed former President Donald Trump for the growing immigration crisis at the U.S. borders.
  • The immigration situation has worsened in recent days due to new policies implemented by President Joe Biden that represent a slight relaxation of those previously taken by the Trump administration.
  • The situation is such that the president has had to reopen detention camps at the borders, a clear contradiction to his campaign speech and point he used against Trump throughout the presidential election.
  • “There are conditions that are in these countries that we have not done enough to help improve,” Psaki said
  • “We don’t feel that sending unaccompanied minors, kids, back to take a dangerous journey is the right step to take, these kids have been through a trauma, we want to treat them humanely and make sure they are kept safe.” Psaki sentenced
  • During the Trump administration children who were caught unrepresented at the border were sent back to their country, the Biden administration still seems to be unclear on what decision to make by keeping children locked up in cells even longer than allowed.
  • Psaki went on to state that the former president’s administration did not do enough to improve living conditions in Central American countries and that migration will continue to occur in the long term.
  • With political pressures from all sides, we are all waiting to see what decisions will come out of the White House regarding the immigration issue.
