- First, the guideline states that people who test positive will be placed in an isolation ward, unaccompanied, to prevent the spread of the virus.
- In addition, patients entering medical facilities must be placed under extreme quarantine, a measure dictated by the national government.
- In this sense, parents who are affected by the virus and bring their babies to the health center are responsible for the infant’s contagion.
- In other words, infants who have the virus and are under medical supervision within the hospital facilities must be accompanied by their parents, if necessary.
- A mother who was interviewed explained to CNN that she is worried because her 5-year-old and 1-year-old children were hospitalized without her being able to hear from them.
- Experts say that the measure is extreme, according to the emotional and psychological capacity of infants to be separated from their parents and representatives.
- In contrast, the policies assure to protect people and avoid the increase of infections due to the coronavirus.
