- (General Dispatch) – The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has detained large numbers of immigrants, the vast majority of whom have been released into U.S. territory, even though they have tested positive for covid 19.
- President Biden has re-activated the “free and release” program where border laws are somewhat relaxed, ignoring the crisis the nation is facing due to high covid rates.
- Undocumented immigrants who are released into the U.S. must wait for either an asylum or immigration hearing, but never end up attending, opting to remain in the country illegally.
- Many of the immigrants from Central America have reported that they have complied with the security measures and are still surprised by the results of the test.
- Despite testing positive, the immigrants decide to continue their journey, most of them trying to move to North Carolina, Maryland and New Jersey.
- It is assumed that both President Biden and DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas have reported that there is no crisis at the border and that everything has been handled with total caution.
- Democrats are calling on Biden to end the Title 42 Order that is in charge of deporting U.S. immigrants through the Department of Homeland Security so that the virus does not spread further in their countries of origin.
- In conclusion the Biden administration is looking for a way to disable Order 42 to prevent the virus from spreading further.
