Twitter CFO: Trump’s twitter ban will continue in the long run

  • Washington (General Dispatch), Twitter CFO Ned Segal assured in a public appearance that the twitter ban on former President Donald Trump will continue, even if he is re-elected in the future.
  • The question came up on CNBC’s Squawk Box program when the host asked what would happen if Donald Trump were to be re-elected in the future.
  • Segal added “So the way our policies work, when you’re removed from the platform, you’re removed from the platform whether you’re a commentator, you’re a CFO or you are a former or current public official”
  • He also said “Our policies are designed to make sure that people are not inciting violence and if anybody does that we have to remove them from the platform and our policies don’t allow them to come back”
  • For context, the banning of the former president was on January 6 after the events at the capitol.
  • It should be noted that some of the president’s tweets were already being muted for not complying with the platform’s policies.
  • Former President Trump claims to have been censored from the media in an orchestrated campaign against him.
  • On the other hand Segal said ““He was removed when he was president and there would be no difference for anybody who was a public official, once they had been removed from the service.”
