NFL Star Colin Kaepernick to Get His Own Documentary on Netflix

  • (General Dispatch) – The former NFL star who was banned by the league after kneeling during the national anthem of the United States in protest of racial inequality will have her own film on the famous platform.
  • The film project, entitled “Colin in Black and White”, is being produced by Emmy-winning Director Ava DuVernay and will star Jaden Michael as a young Colin Kaepernick.
  • Although no major details have been released about the film, it is known that its beginnings have already been tough as they have received threats from conservative groups for the filming. 
  • The threats have created concern for the director and Netflix, although no protests have yet materialized near or around the film set. For this reason Colin did not show up for filming last week. 
  • It is expected that the film will chronologically speak from Colin’s early years to the symbol of protest and resilience that he is today. 
  • “His resistance, his protest, the manner in which he’s gone on living life in his interactions with the NFL have been extremely inspiring to me as an artist,” Director DuVernay said.
  • “Extremely motivating and nourishing. I just feel fortunate that I’ve had a chance to get to know him personally, to talk to him.” Duvernay Finish
  • The film is expected to arrive on the famous platform later this year, and promises to be another of the streaming service monster’s viral productions.
