- (General Dispatch) – During an interview this week, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates talked about climate change, saying that 2050 is the most realistic date to change the world.
- Host Chris Wallace asked Gates what the best case is for those wondering about climate change to which Bill gates responded:
- “The change in the wind patterns is allowing those cold fronts to come down from Canada more often,” Gates Said
- “There’s a pattern of wind that, as it gets warmer, that breaks down. There’s no doubt that we’re putting CO2 into the atmosphere. There’s no doubt that that increases temperatures and that affects the weather. And so, the ill effects, whether it’s, you know, farming in Texas being changed or wildfires or coral reefs dying off, there’s, you know, super hard evidence of the ocean rising. I do think it’s fair that people have different views on the tactics to deal with climate change,” Gates Explained
- He continued: “But this is a real challenge, and it’s great to see that particularly young Republicans are joining in and saying that this is something they care about, beyond their own individual success, morally preserving these ecosystems, allowing a livable planet — they care about that.”
- Wallace told Gates that these are utopian solutions in many cases because millions of people would be losing their jobs if radical pro-planetary measures were implemented.
- Gates assured that the conditions should be well evaluated before implementing them so that this would not happen, but did not miss the opportunity to emphasize that it is the planet that is important in this situation.
- The Microsoft magnate continues to be committed to his fight for the planet and climate change, and is currently promoting his latest book entitled “How to Avoid a Climate Disaster”, so we will surely keep hearing about it.
