Concern In The Republican Party Over Negotiations With Tehran

  • (General Dispatch) – There is uneasiness within the Republican Party that the Biden administration plans to engage in nuclear negotiations with Tehran, Secretary Antony Blinken said in a broadcast.
  • Republican Mike Turner also weighed in on the news, saying, “I am disappointed that the Biden Administration has already ceded critical ground by signaling its intention to re-enter the Iran nuclear deal. The JCPOA is a significantly flawed agreement in which key provisions are set to expire, and the Biden Administration should not re-enter negotiations with Iran without securing permanent prohibitions on Iran’s nuclear ambitions.”
  • Other senators, such as Bill Hagerty, also expressed their views on the issue, assuring that the Biden administration is ceding space on the nuclear issue, and that relaxing negotiations with Tehran is not a good idea, since it would be removing sanctions that have taken years to impose.
  • Senator Joni Ernst also spoke out, stating, “The United States must remain vigilant against Iran and the terrorists they support around the world who wish to harm the United States. Now is not the time to relent in the maximum pressure campaign against Iran or consider re-entering the failed Iran Nuclear Deal.”
  • On the other hand, the Democratic Party has not expressed itself on this news, nor has it taken a position on the matter.
  • Iran was subjected to its maximum level of pressure during the Trump administration, where it is safe to say that the Asian giant was cornered in every way.
  • Different political sectors claim that the nuclear agreement only benefits Iran by making it increase its nuclear arsenal, which makes it much more dangerous for the free world.
