Baluchis Group Kill CGRI Officers

  • By Wayne Rodrigo
  • (General Dispatch) – An attack by the Baloch jihadist group left 5 IRGC officers dead and took some hostages, according to which the attack was carried out in revenge for the killing of Balochis last week.
  • Rudaw media referred to the group of attackers as the “army of justice” or Jaish al-Adl, claiming that it was a successful attack on two patrols of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in the city of Bampasht on Tuesday.
  • Iranian media confirmed the attack, of an injured engineer and some missing, at the same time Rudaw released another kind of information totally different from Iranian sources.
  • Jaish al-Adl is a jihadist group that emerged about 7 years after an attack on another insurgent group called “The Soldiers of God” in 2010, where the leader was killed by IRGC forces.
  • The Iranian regime has derided these groups as “the soldiers of injustice” and has claimed that they are supported by other countries such as the US, Israel, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
  • Residents of Sistan-Baluchistan are outraged at the recent attacks on their citizens as the only way to make a living is by smuggling subsidized fuel from Iran to be sold in Afghanistan or Pakistan.
  • Extreme poverty has affected the community coupled with brutal repression by the IRGC through border blockades and the use of firearms against fuel traders.
  • Diana Eltahawy, AI’s Middle East and North Africa Director said, “By opening fire on a group of unarmed people, Iranian security forces have shown a callous disregard for human life. There must be independent and urgent criminal investigations into these unlawful killings, in accordance with international law and standards. Anyone against whom there is sufficient admissible evidence must be prosecuted in a fair trial, without recourse to the death penalty.”
