U.S. Economy Added 379,000 New Jobs in February

  • The recently completed month saw a surprising rise in the level of jobs being offered by various companies after a pandemic-driven economic downturn.
  • Nonfarm payroll figures projected an increase of 166,000 jobs.
  • According to private sector payrolls, jobs rose to 465,000 in total.
  • The nation’s manufacturing sector reported 21,000 jobs, exceeding expectations.
  • As reported by the Department of Labor, job gains were mainly in hospitality and leisure activities. 
  • Meanwhile, companies providing services to the private sector added 513,000 jobs to the index.
