Aircraft Carrier Monterrey Conducts Patrols in the Mediterranean Sea

  • (General Dispatch) – The aircraft carrier CV-26, renamed Monterey, was the third ship of the U.S. Navy to conduct a patrol with Israeli allies.
  • The ship conducted a routine patrol in the Mediterranean Sea with Sa ́ar 4.5 missile launchers belonging to the Israeli navy in order to demonstrate strength to the enemies of these nations.
  • U.S. Navy Captain Joe Baggett said in a statement, “Regional security and stability are directly linked to greater cooperation, understanding and collaboration with our partners.
  • Through these operations, ties with allied countries are further strengthened and the level of experience is increased for any future war events.
  • As the missions are repeated, Capt. Bagget said that encrypted communications have improved through commands between the two nations to expedite any maneuvers.
  • Monterey left the base in Norfolk, Virginia to conduct flight operations off the coast of West Africa to maintain airman readiness and enhance security.
  • On the other hand, the US Marines instructed the Israel Defense Forces in live-fire simulations in North Carolina, where different war scenarios can be carried out.
