White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki Confronted on Border Facilities Questions

  • By Jennifer Prill
  • (General Dispatch) – In a briefing Monday, reporter Peter Doocy questioned White House Secretary Jen Psaki about the overcrowded migrant facilities at the U.S. southern border.
  • Referring to the capacity of the infrastructure that keeps a sizable group of migrant children protected at the southwest Texas border.
  • At the same time, the reporter highlighted an argument expressed by a person interviewed at the border, who assured that if the president were Donald Trump he would not have dared to cross the border.
  • It should be noted that the development of the session had a high degree of intensity, as they were very specific questions for Fox News, in which the question of the overpopulation attracted by the current immigration policies stood out.
  • Subsequently, the press secretary said that the children were safe and that they had been attended to make sure that they were not carriers of covid-19.
  • She also assured that the permanence of the children in the shelter was due to biosecurity measures and not to abandonment due to the crisis at the border. Since the new administration does not recognize any crisis.
  • The most interesting question of the interview came when the Secretary was asked, “Where else in the country would it be okay to have 400 people in a space for 260 during a pandemic?
  • Summarizing the news, the question was not answered by the Press Secretary. Noting that it follows CDC guidelines, it appears that the White House is still not making a big deal about the border crisis.
