Survey Reveals China as Top U.S. Enemy

  • (General Dispatch) – American citizens say they feel that China is the main enemy of the nation, to a much greater extent than Russia.
  • According to data revealed by the Gallup pollster recently published, 46% of the citizens indicated that China is the main enemy of the USA, while Russia had 26% and North Korea 9%.
  • Surveys are conducted annually to determine the perspective of the American population regarding the nations they consider a risk to their country.
  • Consequently, the fluctuations point to an upward trend for China, while Iraq is being displaced by the aforementioned nations.
  • Interestingly, 76% of Republican Party supporters consider China to be the greatest threat so far. This is followed by 22% of Democrats.
  • The reference of the population’s perceptions is based on China’s economic growth and its reach in the international market through exports. Pointing it out as a “world power”.
  • In this sense, 63% of those surveyed believe that China’s economic power is the main reason to consider it their enemy.
  • Lastly, Americans determined that in the next ten years China could potentially displace the U.S. economy. As well as other particular interests of the nation.
